The Challenge: Brand Refresh Before The Launch Of Their Most Powerful Device & Product Line Yet

In 2023, iRESTORE was preparing for one of the biggest inflection points in the brand’s history: a complete refresh of their brand and the launch of their new flagship Elite device—a premium, FDA-cleared hair growth system priced at $2,000+.

Their internal team had developed a refined brand guide and elevated product positioning. But with a product line averaging $700–$2,500, iRESTORE needed more than creative execution—they needed a retention system that could educate, build trust, and convert over time.

That’s when they brought in Longplay.

We evaluated almost eight different agencies before our search ended with Longplay. We had a huge rebrand to tackle, and their attention to process immediately stood out, making them the clear choice. The Longplay team overhauled and rebranded over 100 of our legacy emails, created new email flows, and helped us with launch campaigns—breathing new life into our communications.

They’ve been an instrumental part of our monthly email campaign and flow strategies with calendar planning and making sure we are optimizing through A/B testing. Their biweekly performance calls help keep us on track and also create a space to ensure we’re constantly leveraging new opportunities for growth.

Outside of the biweekly calls, they are on Slack to integrate seamlessly as an extension of our own team, always just a message away should we need anything. This was especially helpful during BFCM when there was more volume and quick turnarounds needed.Longplay isn’t just an agency, they’re a partner for ongoing success!

Our Role: Translating Brand into Lifecycle Performance

✍️ Rebuilding 160+ Lifecycle Emails for a Reimagined Brand

With a new brand direction focused on clinical authority, safety, and long-term results, every email had to do more than look good. It had to build confidence, educate clearly, and support higher-priced decisions.

Longplay helped:

  • Translate iRESTORE’s new identity into high-converting, brand-aligned lifecycle content
  • Rebuild 160+ emails across welcome, abandonment, education, conversion, post-purchase, and cross-selling
  • Create trust-first journeys that guided customers toward products over time—not pressured them with promos

A Scalable Strategy for a Growing Product Portfolio

As iRESTORE expanded into a new product category (skincare devices with their LED masks) and evolved its core lineup, we developed a segmented customer journey that could flex with each new product:

  • Custom journeys for the Elite device: teaser, education series, pre-order, post-purchase, and upsells
  • Net-new flows for the skincare product category, tailored for a different customer segment and consideration cycle
  • Segmentation and journey branching to reflect product-specific benefits, routines, and clinical messaging

Beyond the Rebrand: Performance-Driven Partnership

iRESTORE didn’t just need a rebrand rollout—they needed a lifecycle marketing team that they could scale with. Once the Elite and Skin device launches were complete, Longplay remained an ongoing strategic partner.

We supported:

  • Full Black Friday and Q4 campaign strategy, helping deliver the brand’s highest-grossing BFCM ever
  • Content, image, and module recommendations to improve engagement and simplify clinical concepts
  • Campaign calendars built around product education, not just promotions
  • Continuous flow and segmentation optimization as customer needs and products evolved

Milestone Moments

Elite Device Launch
Custom journeys helped turn a $2,000+ device into one of iRESTORE’s most successful products

Skin Device Category Launch
Email strategy tailored to a new routine, new benefits, and new buyer type

Best Black Friday Ever (2024)
Strategic segmentation and a deeper discount structure shattered previous records

Today: A Retention System Built to Scale

With Longplay, iRESTORE now has:

  • A high-performing lifecycle engine aligned with brand and business goals
  • A foundation to support multi-product growth
  • A strategic partner that goes beyond tactics to drive long-term revenue growth

What Made Our Partnership Work

At Longplay, we believe the best outcomes don’t just come from great strategy—they come from great partnerships.

We know lifecycle marketing works best when it’s not a one-sided service, but a two-way collaboration built on trust, openness, and shared ownership of results. These case studies aren’t just a reflection of what we delivered—they’re a reflection of what made the partnership work.

So here’s what our team loved about working with Hershal & Amanda, and the iRestore team, that made this partnership so successful:

What made the iRESTORE partnership so effective was the strength of their internal team and process. With a clear structure and strong cross-functional support, we were able to integrate seamlessly into their workflows—almost like an extension of their in-house team. Hershall and Amanda, in particular, were incredibly thoughtful collaborators. They were responsive, aligned, and receptive to our creative direction around imagery and storytelling—making it easy to execute at a high level. Their commitment to process and open communication helped us deliver meaningful results, even within the complexity of a large brand ecosystem.

A white-glove service built for success.

Chapter 1: E-Commerce Email Marketing Basics

What is ecommerce email marketing? Ecommerce email marketing is the method of sending emails to generate sales, keep email subscribers engaged, and build customer loyalty for your ecommerce business. Email marketing is one of the most critical tools for your ecommerce store because it is an "owned" marketing channel. In other words, your business owns the audience (your email list) and controls the content. Unlike paid marketing channels (ie. Facebook, TikTok, Google) and earned marketing channels (ie. press coverage), email marketing gives you full control over your content, direct access to your audience and you don't have to pay to reach them. This makes email marketing a powerful marketing strategy to nurture, convert, and retain customers by building long-term relationships. Why is email marketing important to grow your ecommerce store? It has one of the highest return on investment (ROI): on average, e-commerce businesses earn $40 for every $1 spent on their email marketing and email marketing generates 20-30% of their business revenue. This makes email marketing one of the most effective channels to generate revenue & convert customers. Here are some of the ways email marketing can generate sales for your ecommerce store:‍ 1.  Promoting new products and promotions Announce new product launches...

The Guide to Email Marketing KPIs: How to Measure and Optimize Your Email Campaigns

Like most marketing channels, growing your email revenue is a process of continual growth and optimization. Once you're regularly sending out email campaigns, your email marketing KPIs will tell you where there is room to optimize, try new campaign ideas, and run A/B tests. E-commerce brands often leave thousands of dollars of revenue on the table because they don't regularly review their performance & optimize their email marketing strategy based on their insights. Sometimes, something as simple as a different send time or a change in the email layout can create 15-20% more lift in revenue. Sometimes, your email marketing KPIs will help you identify new types of email marketing campaigns that your subscribers engage with more.Another common mistake e-commerce brands make is sending out the same few email marketing campaigns each month, which eventually end up feeling repetitive to subscribers. Regularly measuring & optimizing your campaigns includes coming up with new ideas to test.‍To make the most out of your email marketing efforts, every e-commerce brand should follow this process:Send Email CampaignsUpdate A Weekly Reporting DashboardAnalyze the data at least once a month (ideally weekly!)Identify opportunities for A/B tests, segmentation, and other campaign ideasDeploy new tests & ideas on...
